I painted this piece around 2018, when I was in a painting season of vibrant colour and thick paint. Flowers are easy to find in the summer months and endlessly inspiring to paint. Since I am especially drawn to bright colour, flowers felt like the perfect way to explore that.
 
I'm unsure whether this piece ever made it into anyone's home or not, or if it ended up in the trash.  Thank goodness I photographed it. I keep a much more accurate catalog of my work now, whether it's my favourite at the time or not.
